Today I was sent a link to this banana recipe at I Hate My Message Board, and I damned near died just looking at her photos. I modified it a little and served it after lunch.
Freakin’ delicious! They’re like sex, in your mouth, with bananas. Huh, and that’s my attempt to make it sound less dirty.
OK, so my modified recipe:
Heat a pan with about 2 tbsp butter. Seriously, use real butter. Not margarine, not vegetable oil spread, not fake wanna-be butter crap. Use butter, the real stuff, from a local farmer if you can get it.
Slice 1 banana per person, and slather the top with a bit of peanut butter. Tracey recommends using a turkey baster to put a hole in the bananas and filling them with the peanut butter. But I don’t have a baster, so I just frosted each slice with the stuff.
Fry each slice, PB side up, in the butter. They’ll start getting soft and deepen in color. She added brown sugar to her’s, I sprinkled a dash of cinnamon to the top of each one as it fried.
After about 2-3 minutes frying, I pulled the sliced and placed them on a plate. I sprinkled on a bit of shredded, unsweetened coconut. The using a metal spoon, I scooped up the butter from the pan and poured it all over the top.
The smell in my kitchen was enough to make me drool. Then I took a bite and started hallucinating pink elephants doing the mamba. Yes folks, these taste that good. Go. Go now. Make these yourself. (Next time, I’m experimenting with apple slices instead. Yum!)
